The most popular activities around the New Year celebration, other than the party itself is making resolutions. The second most popular activity shortly after the celebration is to forget about those troublesome resolutions. The most popular resolutions related to improving your health, lose weight, losing fat, building muscle, and generally improving your image. There are several good strength training programs that do all those things. So how do you make sure you stick with your resolutions, and achieving these goals? Making frivolous resolutions does not work. Carefully consider what you want to change, and together a written plan of action. Write your ultimate goal, why is this a worthy goal, how you intend to end, how long you expect to take to achieve that goal, and what you’re willing to give to get there. Be as detailed as you can. Skip the paper and not just mental notes. Mental notes as oral contracts. They are not worth the paper they are printed on. They are quickly forgotten. In your written plan, especially for smaller steps, intermediate goals include. As you progress through your plan exceed these checkpoints, you can reward yourself with a little treat for stabbing your program. Before you begin an exercise program, please contact your physician or other healthcare professional, so you’re healthy enough for the physical stress of working outside to resist. This is necessary even if you feel healthy. This is especially true if you have no major health concerns or have been a long time couch potato. One of the dangers of a strength training or exercise program is dehydration. Make sure you drink plenty of water. Do not try this alone. Get a buddy. Tell your friends and loved ones what you do, why you are doing, and what you hope to achieve. Working with a friend introduces peer pressure to stay with your plan. Studies have shown that training with someone introduces a competitive advantage and improve your performance. Having a friend with you, chat and laugh together will keep your mind out of the rut and prevent boredom. An exercise buddy can you encouragement, suggestions, and ensure that the added kick you work on your goals. Choosing an exercise program for your personality and lifestyle will make the difference in the world. Think about what you liked to do as a child. An activity that you enjoyed it would most likely one that you would enjoy. Do not do too much too fast. You are no longer that child. Start slow, then as your condition improves build your routines, and add any different routines. It is not necessary to spend too much on the exercise equipment, special clothing, or gym memberships. You can get many of the free exercise by walking, running, swimming, gymnastics to do, etc. Let the spending until later when you know what you want to do, and know that you can hold it. After a few weeks, your training will become a habit, and you’ll be less inclined to stop. You may find that you feel better, both the exercise and the knowledge you do something good for yourself that you enjoy. It takes eight weeks or more to see proof in the mirror. Make a chart to track your weight loss and fat loss, measurements and activities. The card shows minor improvements before you can actually see. Changing your routine every now and then a long ways to prevent you from getting bored and stop.
