I find this a lot because it was filmed on a Maui beach. I can breathe the salt air and feel the wind and imagine looking far over the ocean. let me feel more at peace, because I feel I have sworn on the beach, not just in one room. Rating: 5 / 5

To my dismay first, and gradually worsening after 25 minutes of viewing, this video does not teach Chi (energy), or Chi Kung (Qigong), but Tai Chi. Why not simply state the title of “Tai Chi”? While Ross is a qualified instructor at the camera, what he does in the video are excerpts from the Yang-style Tai Chi Chuan. Although there is an art called Taiji Qigong, Ross is not a stitch of instruction in supply, either. Everything he does is repeat about 8-9 movements of Tai Chi Chuan form. Ross is quite greasy and initiation story Panders to what I propose are new-age types to be entranced by the mere mention of the word “energy.” This kind of presentation is fine, just had some real Qigong (energy training) here. But Zilch! As a 9 years training in martial arts and Qigong, Qigong is not in this band, despite the online advertising – a few isolated movements of Tai Chi in random order. And you can not really call what Ross shows here as “Chi”. His way of doing Tai Chi is not “Chi”. As a basic Tai Chi, this video is on the tight side – a better and more complete introduction to Tai Chi training can be done by many other tapes that traditional Tai Chi forms, cover as Dr. Lam, or Zwinge Yang-Ming ’s or Terry Dunn’s. I am very disappointed and got back my copy of this band for a refund because of the misleading title and advertising. Other reviews “on Amazon. com did not help me out in this case. Rating: 1 / 5

I was looking for an introductory Qigong training and meets the bill. The instructor is knowledgable, patient and calm. The beach and the scenery is peaceful and soothing background music. The instructor uses his words sparingly and learn more by example. The movements themselves are fairly accessible, far more than the yoga tapes that I’ve seen. I have rather poor balance and flexibility, due to a back injury, but I was able to do almost all movements. The back stretchng exercises held near the beginning, especially beneficial to me. There were a couple moves that took a while to learn. The rewind button helped. I want more material to breath. A live class would be a more direct contact and more feedback, but this band is quite good for an individual experience. This tape is a fine introduction to qigong and will become part of my morning routine Rating: 4 / 5

I bought this video about one years ago and find it an excellent tool. Its well produced, well-priced and relatively easy to follow (some movements are a challenge if you are uncoordinated like me). I have arthritis and I think I can follow along very well. The location of the shooting, the score and the instructor to make for a great workout that is both relaxing and stimulating (go figure). If you are looking for an introduction to this is the chi. I think this set (Chi Beginning by Living Arts) lot. It is good for a slow day or after injury. Sometimes seem hypnotic circular motion. Rating: 5 / 5
